The Animation Project (TAP) nurtures the social and emotional growth of young people, using digital arts technology as a therapeutic medium and workforce development tool.
Our Programs
TAP’s programming integrates creative arts therapy techniques with popular technologies, building on the intersection between technology and modern job skills with an emphasis on the social component of group projects. Our curriculum explores storytelling, character development, environment and scene design, asset (object) design, music, sound, art, movement and performance. Participation also offers the opportunity for people to progress through our further tiers of learning, which include incentivized and stipend-based technical and professional opportunities.

We partner with schools, jails, courts, and community-based organizations to provide groups with a focus on storytelling, storyboarding and character.

Our free, PAID learning opportunities for 12-24 year olds of all skill levels who reside in NYC. In each event, participants explore what it’s like to work in the animation and related industries.

Eligible participants must be between 12 and 24 years old and reside in New York City.

The Animation Project (TAP) Studio is a professional animation studio in NYC comprised of a team of industry professional animators and skilled apprentices.
TAP Studio Apprentices have graduated our Training Program and are paid to work alongside industry professionals on commercial projects, further developing their mastery of state of the art and emerging technologies.
