ANIMATION TEACHING ARTIST

The Animation Project (TAP) seeks a Part-Time Animation Teaching Artist to co-facilitate a twice weekly in-person group at Crossroads Juvenile Center

Details:

• Length: Temporary, 5-week PT position

• Schedule: 

• 2 two-hour long sessions per week for 4 weeks (8 sessions total)

• October start date and time TBD

• Onboarding and planning meetings prior to start date

• Prior site clearance and training required

• Location: Crossroads Juvenile Center, 17 Bristol St, Brooklyn, NY 11212

• Hours: Up to 11 hours per week total

• 4 hours per week of in-person facilitation.

• Up to 7 hrs per week for planning, film production and team meetings. Travel time is not included.

• Week before program start:

• 1 hour TAP onboarding meeting

• Up to 2 hours planning with co-facilitator

• Compensation will be provided for all required clearance steps

• Type of Contract: 1099

• Compensation: $50.00/hour

• Co-facilitator: Creative Arts Therapist

• Direct report: Program Director

Expectations:

• Support participants in developing a short original animated film, and experiment with digital drawing software, over the course of the 8-session cycle. The Animation Teaching Artist is paired with a Creative Arts Therapist to co-facilitate the groups.

• Collaborate with creative arts therapist to assess and award digital badge credentials as appropriate

• Implement curriculum alongside creative arts therapist 

• Partner with creative arts therapist to ensure the timely meeting of all deliverable as per the production schedule

• Attend weekly team meetings

• Communicate effectively with co-facilitator, program director, on-site staff and TAP team

Qualifications:

• Experience in and/or passion for working with justice-impacted adolescents preferred

• Must complete a Crossroads clearance packet and attend a PREA training

• Must complete a Crossroads clearance packet and attend a PREA training

• Passion for animation and working knowledge of the animation pipeline, softwares and techniques used

• Punctual and reliable

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

• Ensure the group completes deliverables on time and according to the group’s intention

• Interest in and enthusiasm toward group facilitation 

• Adaptability in engaging participants of varying skill sets, experience and interests

• Active, engaged and present within a group setting

• Ability to substitute for other in-person groups a plus (when available and needed)

CREATIVE ARTS THERAPIST

The Animation Project (TAP) seeks a Creative Arts Therapist for a group @ Crossroads Juvenile Center. 

Details:

• Length: Temporary, 5-week PT position

• Schedule: 

• 2 two-hour long sessions per week for 4 weeks (8 sessions total)

• October start date and time TBD

• Onboarding and planning meetings prior to start date

• Prior site clearance and training required

• Location: Crossroads Juvenile Center, 17 Bristol St, Brooklyn, NY 11212

• Hours: Up to 10 hours per week 

• 4 hours per week of in-person facilitation.

• Up to 6 hrs per week for documentation, planning, partner prep/debrief, supervision and team meetings. Travel time is not included.

• Week before program start:

• 1 hour onboarding meeting

• Up to 2 hours planning with co-facilitator

• Compensation will be provided for all required clearance steps

• Type of Contract: 1099

• Compensation: $50.00/hour

• Co-facilitator: Animation Teaching Artist

• Direct report: Program Director

Note: no animation experience or skills required.

Expectations:

• Co-facilitate group sessions with a focus on creative arts therapy, technical animation training, and career exploration through a therapeutic storytelling lens

• Input attendance within 24 hours and write clinical notes within 48 hours of session

• Collect new participant information Collaborate with co-facilitator to assess and award digital badge credentials Implement curriculum alongside co-facilitator

• Partner with co-facilitator to ensure the timely meeting of all deliverable as per the production schedule

• Attend weekly supervision and team meetings

• Communicate effectively with co-facilitator, program director, on-site staff and TAP team

Qualifications:

• Must be LCAT or LCAT-P

• Must complete a Crossroads clearance packet and attend a PREA training

• Experience working with justice-impacted adolescents preferred

• Comfort with commanding and holding a room, easily balancing group facilitation and individualized support to participants

• Demonstrate compassion towards youth and a passion towards the arts to best motivate and inspire our participants within a creative team

• Ability to balance spontaneity and clinical professionalism in a group setting based on group needs

• Active, engaged and present within the group dynamic, easily implementing different therapeutic and creative interventions geared towards completing a project 

• Willingness and skill in nurturing and developing effective working relationships with site staff

• Ability to substitute for other in-person groups a plus (when available and needed)
